Good Faith Estimates

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don't have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment and hospital fee.

No Surprise Act

Surprise billing is an unexpected balance bill. This can happen when you can't control the cost of your care. For example, you were seen in the emergency room at an in-network facility, but was treated by an out-of-network provider. You now qualify under the No Surprise act.

  • If you see a different health care provider or are seen in a new facility, you may owe certain out-of-pocket costs or the visit in full if the facility/provider is out-of-network.

  • What is Out-of-network?    All insurance companies have certain facilities or providers that are out of range of coverage. It is best to look into the insurance policy before purchasing to avoid being uncovered for medical services.

Does Franklin County Memorial Hospital and Pool Medical Clinic take my health insurance?

  • If you are a new patient, please call prior to your appointment to verify our facility is in-network with your insurance company.

Timely Filing

  • When you are seen by a provider, that provider has a certain amount of time to turn it into your insurance. If not, it is possible your services will not be covered and the bill will be your responsibility
